NESTFIRE

NestFIRE is developed and operated by DS-Lab, Singapore, who is the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@canfire.app.

Because NestFIRE has no servers and no accounts, we hold almost no data about you. The only personal data processed on our behalf is the subscription information handled by RevenueCat under a data processing agreement (described below). Apple and Google are independent controllers of your purchase and payment information under their own privacy policies — they do not process it on our behalf. Everything you enter into the app stays on your device and is never accessible to us.

Legal Basis (UK/EU users)

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract — to deliver and validate a subscription you purchase; and our legitimate interests — to prevent fraudulent or abusive purchases. We do not rely on consent for any of this processing, and we do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

International Transfers

RevenueCat processes data in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, that transfer is covered by RevenueCat's data processing agreement, which incorporates the Standard Contractual Clauses (and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) as the safeguard required by Chapter V of the GDPR.

Because your financial information never leaves your device, you already have complete, direct control of it — you can view, edit, export, or delete any entry at any time in the app, and remove everything at once with Settings → Clear All Data.

In relation to the limited subscription data described above, and subject to local law, you have the right to: access it; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to its processing; and receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@canfire.app.

How We Handle Requests

We hold no account and no name for you, so we cannot identify your records from an email address alone. To help us locate any subscription record, please include your app store transaction ID or your RevenueCat app user ID (Settings → About). Without identifying information of this kind we may be unable to act on a request. We aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are in the UK or EEA and believe we have not handled your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

California Residents

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Children

NestFIRE is intended for adults planning their own finances. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will assist in deleting it.

On-Device Storage Only

Every number you enter into NestFIRE — expenses, income, assets, and personal details — is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage area, protected by your device's own security (your passcode or biometric lock and the operating system's built-in device encryption). There is no cloud sync, no account creation, and no backend server.

Receipt Photos (Camera & Photo Library)

You can optionally attach a receipt image to a spending entry, using your camera or photo library. The app requests camera and photo permissions only for this purpose, only when you initiate it. Receipt images are stored on your device alongside your other NestFIRE data and are never uploaded, analysed, or shared. If you never attach a receipt, these permissions are never used.

No Internet Required

NestFIRE works fully offline. The only network activity is subscription management (RevenueCat, described below). None of your financial data is involved in any network call.

Data Portability

To transfer your data to another device, use the Export / Restore feature in Settings. This creates an AES-256 encrypted backup file that only you control. The file is never uploaded or shared automatically.

NestFIRE does not collect usage analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or any telemetry. There is no advertising in the app, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Your personal financial data is never transmitted to any server.

The only data that leaves your device is the subscription information handled by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google, described in the next section. That data does not include anything you enter into the app.

No personally identifiable financial information is ever transmitted from your device to any server, including ours.

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

NestFIRE uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions (Pro plan). The RevenueCat SDK initialises each time the app starts, so for every user — subscriber or not — it collects and transmits: a randomly generated device identifier, app version, device type and model, operating system and version, and IP address (used by RevenueCat for fraud prevention and receipt validation). If you subscribe, it additionally processes purchase transaction data (product ID, transaction ID, price, currency, purchase date, subscription status, and app store receipt data).

This data is transmitted to RevenueCat's servers in the United States under standard a data processing agreement, and is used for subscription validation, restoration and fraud prevention. RevenueCat does not receive any of your personal financial data entered into NestFIRE — your plans, logs, and assets never leave your device.

If you enable reminders in Settings, NestFIRE schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated entirely on-device — no notification tokens or device identifiers are sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings or in your device's system settings.

NestFIRE is a personal retirement planning calculator. It is not a licensed financial adviser, and nothing in this app constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or any form of regulated financial advisory service in any jurisdiction.

All projections, estimates, and insights are based solely on the information you enter. They are for your own planning reference only. You should not make any financial decision based solely on outputs from this app. For personalised advice, consult a qualified, licensed financial professional in your country.

Projections & Estimates

All financial projections are mathematical estimates based on your inputs and assumed growth rates. Past performance of any asset class does not guarantee future returns. Actual outcomes will differ from projections due to market conditions, inflation, policy changes, and personal circumstances.

No Affiliation

NestFIRE is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government body, pension scheme, financial institution, insurer, or investment product provider.

All NestFIRE data lives only on your device, for as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual entries at any time, or remove everything at once with Settings → Clear All Data. Uninstalling the app also deletes all locally stored data. Encrypted backup files you export are under your control — delete them from wherever you stored them.

Subscription records held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat are retained under their own policies. Because Apple and Google are independent controllers of that data, requests about it should be made to them directly; we can assist with RevenueCat records where you can supply an identifier.
